Too Perfect!

We arrived in beautiful Colorado yesterday and it is so perfect! We flew into Denver and drove to Breckenridge, which was so beautiful. We were all a little nervous about the cabin because you never know if the Internet is showing you the real picture, but we were very pleased with our cabin. It is fairly new, has enough beds to sleep 12 people, pool table, hot tub, and it is at all different levels! It is so much fun and we feel so blessed to be on such a great vacation. It took us all a little while to get used to the change in altitude but we managed. The town is so cute and just looks like a fairy tale with all the beautiful snow. Ginger and I went to the grocery store to stock up and it was so strange to see people with snowboards in there grocery cart. We are heading out to the slopes today so I will let you know how it goes. I have never been so say a prayer that I come back in one piece.

Who Knew

Who knew that Bryant's favorite toy would be a yellow plastic spoon that goes to their learning kitchen. He has fallen in love with it and if you try to take it from him he gets very angry! I just had to video a short clip of it to show you all. All the toys santa brought them for Christmas and really this is his favorite thing.

And let the Anxiety Begin

We have planned and planned and the day has come, we are going on vacation without Bryant and Lucy Kate. Charles and I promised each other that once things were going great with Bryant we would do something for ourselves. We are leaving at 5AM in the morning heading to Colorado with our dear friends Chris and Ginger. We are going to Breckenridge and staying in a great cabin in the mountains. We have 3 days of skiing planned, great dinners, and spa treatment all waiting on us. All of this sounds great and I should be busting at the seems, not so much. I feel major anxiety about the whole situation and I really want to pack those sweet babies up and take them with me. I know they will be fine but I will miss them very much! Of course I have schedules and notes taped all over the house and have every minute of every day planned out on who is keeping them. The small army includes Kammy, Papa D, Aunt Emily, Vernita, Anna, and Nana. I am so thankful to have each of these people in our lives that are allowing us to go on this trip. Pray for our travels and our heavy hearts as we head out in the morning.

"A Red Carpet Affair"

A huge part of my life is Clarksdale Junior Auxiliary and I really never blog about it. It is a great organization to be a part of and we host our Charity Ball each January and it is a lot of work. It takes many months of planning and it is our sole fundraiser, so it is nerve racking! Last year I was on bedrest during all the planning and the actual event so I was excited to be able to do more this year. The event turned out great and we are so thankful to all those who attended and donated things for our live and silent auction. We will soon start planning for the next one and it will be my last. Next year is my 5th year and I will be done with my time. I have truly enjoyed it and can't wait until our next project.

Emma Grace's Birthday Party

Emma Grace getting ready to blow out the candles

I love this little girl so much and I feel as though she is mine. I was with Heather from day one of her pregnancy and was able to spend so much time with Emma Grace when I lived in Cleveland. I try to be part of as many things as possible so I was honored to be part of her 7th birthday party. Heather was very brave and agreed to a spend the night party with 13 little girls (no she is not a gluten for punishment) she is an awesome mom. The Wizard of Oz was the theme and of course we dressed up. I picked the kids up from school and home we went to get ready for the girls to arrive. We got all the games ready, the cake was delivered, pizzas were ordered, and we changed into our costumes. Yes, you are ready correctly COSTUMES!! Only for Emma Grace would I dress up like a munchkin and listen to little girls squeal all night. Heather plans a great party and hopefully she will be helping me with the babies party soon!

The Good Witch (aka awesome mom)

We actually wore these outfits most of the night

The bad witch came and stole all the birthday gifts.

What a great looking cake.

What a Delight!!

A weekend that we have all been looking forward to and planned over a month ago. I met up with Heather, Betsy, Andrea, and Lauranne at the Alluvian in Greenwood. We met that morning and headed over to the spa for massages, facials, manicures, and pedicures. We had lunch at the spa and had the best time catching up with each other. After much needed pampering we went shopping downtown and then headed to the room to get ready for dinner. We enjoyed a great meal at Gardinas and of course talked our heads off. We are hoping to all get together for another a trip in September. I love these girls so much and I miss them so much!

Happy Birthday Julie and Julie

We always try to go out and eat to celebrate each of our birthdays. We were a little behind on celebrating Julie Flowers' and Julie Burton's Birthday because they were during the holiday season. I love these girls so much and I feeel so blessed to be part of there lives.

New Clean Up Crew

The best part of any meal to the babies is when Bailey cleans up. He cleans up at there feet and they just laugh and laugh. They have grown to love Bailey so much and they are going to have so much fun with them as they get older.

New Foods

We have finally started to try some "real" food! We have tried pancakes, eggs, apple pieces, banana, carrot pieces, baby mum mums, and yogurt melts. We also tried some new stage 3 baby foods that made for some funny faces. One bite made Bryant's eyes roll back and he just shook his head. Lucy Kate will grab anything on her tray and even eat it out of her scoop bib. Bryant on the other hand just looks at you and wants to know when someone is going to feed him the baby food. I was always told once you give them the good stuff they will not eat the baby food, not in this case. I am posting some video pics that we thought were hilarious. They also do a lot of talking during dinner. One video shows how well Lucy Kate is saying "dada"

Trip to Campbell's Clinic

Working so hard in Physical Therapy
This past Monday Bryant had an appointment with the pediatric orthopedic surgeon. I was a little nervous heading into the appointment because I did not want to hear the word "surgery" The doctor was great and he said that Bryant does have enough support for his spine and that the joints where the hip bones connect looks great. We are going back in 6 months for an x-ray because we have to monitor things as he continues to grow. Between he and Lucy Kate we have a lot of things to follow so I will always be busy with doctors appointments. He also had a physical therapy appointment which went well. Jodie is so proud of the progress he has made and we will continue to go for a few more months. Lucy Kate and Charles were with us for the appointments and she was trying to show out and crawl on her knees.
All bundled up for the appoinment

Traditions with the Lively Family

I forgot to post our Christmas with Chris, Ginger, and Warner so I had to share. We are such great friends that have so much in common and a few years ago we started a Christmas tradition. We try to cook something new and exchange gifts. We started this before children and it is even more fun with children. We are so blessed to have such great friends.

Texas Fun

You gotta love a road trip!

We had such a great time in Texas and it was so great to see Aunt Dale, Uncle Sonny and Jay. They live in a great neighborhood and they are the best hostesses. It took is about 11 hours to get to Tomball and the babies did really well. We stopped about 4 times and fed them in the car and when we arrived they were ready to go to bed. Our time there went by so fast and hopefully we will be able to return soon. Thanks for such a great time, we love you guys and miss you!

Texas Fun!!

The Best Christmas Ever

Christmas morning arrived and we had so much fun. Santa made the stop at our house and brought so much stuff. Of course they had no clue what was going on but they actually played with the new toys. I wanted to have every minute on video so we had to reenact some of the mornings events for the camera. 30 minutes into Christmas the camera was full and I could have killed my husband. The video camera he had to have has done nothing but put a dent in the checkbook and give me a headache. I will share the story later but needless to say Charles had to go to Lula to get the rest of the parts to the camera and download all the video off the camera onto the computer. After all of this we continued with Christmas morning in a hurry. The babies were ready for a nap and we opened there gifts very quickly. Kammy and Papa D gave them the big Pottery Barn chairs and they are so cute. They received cute toys from Gibb and MeeMaw too!

Family Fun on Christmas Eve

Christmas was wonderful since we have so much to celebrate. Celebrating Jesus is the most important and this year we were able to celebrate two wonderful blessings that we received, Charles Bryant Johnson III and Lucy Kate Johnson. We prayed for many years for God to provide us with a beautiful healthy child and he blessed us with two! On Christmas Eve we went to Lula to meet up with Charles' family. We went to Roger and Emma's and had lunch and opened gifts. All the adults played dirty Santa and it was so much fun!

Next we went to Chuck and Catherine's house to celebrate Christmas. The babies were due for a nap so we saved there gifts for when they woke up. It was nice to be with family and celebrate in all the joy of the season.

Carson loved all his presents and had so much fun.

Christmas Eve night with my family is a tradition and we continued it this year. We usually go to Helena but since the babies had been out all day the fam came to Lyon. We always cook and open one present each. Afterwards we play games and this year we made cookies for Santa and left reindeer food. It was so much fun having the babies to celebrate with.
