What a great week we had, Bryant had his trache removed! Wednesday was such a nerve racking day since there was a small possibility they would not be able to remove it. Dr. Thompson came by before surgery and reminded me of this little fact and I just felt week about it. I prayed and prayed while he was in surgery that when they called us from recovery the trache would be out. Beth (our favorite nurse in recovery) called us and said they would be removing the trache as soon as he woke up, I just cried with such relief. Still I was ready to see him without the trache. Charles went back first and waited with him until it was removed and then I came back. He was sucking down an apple juice bottle and making all kinds of noises. After about 2 hours in recovery we were moved to the floor for observation. Bryant had a great night and it was the best night of sleep I have ever had. We were given the okay to leave the next morning around 9:30. Unbelievable we were leaving the hospital with exactly what we had prayed for since the trache was put in, for it to be gone. God heard those prayers and made this process as quick as possible. I wanted to share a video of what Bryant sounded like when he was in recovery, I have more to share but I will have to do it later.
