We had lots of family time this weekend and it was great. Friday afternoon Charles and I played 9 holes of golf so we could spend time together and Friday night we went out to eat to celebrate my dad's 59th birthday. We went to a great little restaurant in Clarksdale, Rust and the food was great. Saturday my aunt and my grandma came for a visit and it was so special. My grandma has not been able to see her great grandchildren since they were first born. It meant so much too see her and my aunt Gerri. Charles was home for the weekend as things are kind of slow on the farm right now. It was nice to have him around to help out and spend time with the babies.

When times are a little crazy and I am trying to tend to Bryant I usually will sit Lucy Kate down in her bouncy seat. While in the seat she screams until I get done with Bryant, she knows he is getting attention. One day I turned around and she was on her belly with her legs hanging off the end. She did this is like a minute and continues to cry and scream the whole time, of course I thought it was hilarious! I made her do it again and got some cute photos.

14 weeks

Here are the babies at 14 weeks! It is hard to believe that we have come this far and things are so much better. We have not had to go to the hospital anymore, which is a blessing in itself and we have had no trouble with Bryant's trach. I guess I took the whole nursing thing pretty well but I will gladly give it up as soon as we get the chance. We put a new type of trach in this week that will hopefully allow Bryant to move his head around better. He was always keeping his head turned to the right and the PT was concerned that his muscles on the right side would become shortened. I immediately took action and got this child a new trach ordered because we do not want him to have to deal with anymore issues. Once this trach comes out I hope we never even go to the doctor again. Some Late Post

I have gotten a little behind in the blogging world and have some catching up to do. The babies were 13 weeks (3 months) last week and they are doing great! Lucy Kate is smiling all the time, rolling over, and starting to coo. Bryant smiles all the time, is holding his head up great, enjoys tummy time, and accidentally rolled over when I took my eyes off of him for a minute. They are such a blessing and I thank God everyday for giving me the chance to be a parent to these two wonderful babies. The babies are now 14 weeks and I will post pics as soon as I take them and today is also my dad's birthday (Happy Birthday Papa D!). We are planning on getting together Friday night to do out for dinner. I also posted pics from my visit with Jennifer and Landon, they came about 2 weeks ago and brought dinner. They picked up Ginger and we had a great time visiting. They only live 45 minutes away but we never get to see each other, so it was a great treat.

Busy Week

This week has been very busy! Monday the babies had a check-up with the pediatrician in Helena at 9. Bryant weighed 10 pounds 10 ounces and Lucy Kate weighed 10 pounds. Dr. Pillow said the babies looked great and weight gain is good. She wanted to have some things checked out with Bryant so we headed over to the hospital for a chest x-ray, blood work, trach culture, and stool sample. Everything came back fine with a little bacterial growth in his trach (which is normal) and we are taking antibiotics. Lucy Kate is doing very well with her reflux and hardly spits up anymore.
Tuesday morning Bryant had an appointment with the ENT in Memphis to have the granulation tissue burned off again. I left Lucy Kate with Vernita and met mom in Lula at 9:30. My mom is so much help and is always able to go with us to the doctor. The ENT said the trach site looked great and Bryant hardly even cried this time when he burned the spot off. Dr. Thompson did say if the tissue does not go away after about 5 more times of burning it that we will have to go into surgery and clip it off. We go back on the 1st so he can burn it again. Bryant did so great all day and ran errands with my mom and I. We met my cousins for lunch and I was even able to get a manicure and pedicure! We did not get back to Lyon until 8:30, we were worn out.
Wednesday, the photographer came over at 1:00 for the babies 3 month pictures. Will Jacks from Cleveland took the pictures and he is so great to work with. We did some family pics and pics of each baby separately and together and then pictures of me with the babies. I am so excited to see the photos, he said it would take about a week and a half to get the slide show together that he will e-mail to me. The babies did great for all the pictures and stayed awake until the very end. Just wanted to let everyone know what we have been up to this week.

Happy Father's Day

Charles actually got to be at home and we had a wonderful father's day! We made him cinnamon rolls and he was able to sleep in for a little while. We also went to Helena and ate lunch with all of his family at the club. This was the first outing with both babies besides going to the doctor and I was a little nervous. I am protective over Bryant and a freak about germs with him, but all went well and we had a great lunch. After lunch we went to visit my dad and give him his gift. My parents were so excited to see the babies. Back at home and the day went well, hope everyone had a great father's day!

Great Help

The past two weeks the babies and I have had lots of visitors and we are so grateful. My friends are now aware of the main times I am without any help and so they come over to visit during that time. I am able to get supper started, fold clothes, make bottles, or take a shower! It is so great to have so many great friends. Of course I tried to take photos with everyone, Mary Kate, Anna, Magan, Katie, Abby, Cassie, Kerri, Dixie, and Monica. They were all such a bog help and I appreciate it so much! Thanks to my mom and one of the ladies that helps me, Charlotte, I actually went out of town one day (30 minutes away) so I could go to the dentist and get my hair done.

12 Weeks

Saturday was Jack and Katie's swim party and I was determined to take the babies. Mrs. Vernita was here to help and we loaded the babies up and all the necessary equipment and headed out to the party. Bryant slept the entire time and Lucy Kate was awake for some of the party. It was a great party and all the kids had so much fun. Jennie is such a great mom and did such a great job, especially on the cake!

11 Weeks

The babies are 11 weeks old and they are doing great! They are such a blessing and each day is such an adventure in every way.

Laura and Laney came to visit

Laura Harris and Laney came to visit us this week. Laney was born two weeks after Bryant and Lucy Kate and we have wanted to get them together. We were so happy to see them and we plan on going to visit them in Cleveland as soon as we can.

Visit to the ENT

About a week ago Charles and I noticed a lump of skin growing underneath Bryant's trach. It was small but by the weekend it doubled in size, so we had a nurse come over and look at it. She said it was granulation tissue and that it was very common. The body is trying to close up the hole because it is not normal. She said that they would burn the skin off with a nitrous stick. I called the ENT first thing Monday morning and they were able to see us early Tuesday. It was awful when they burned it off and the spot looks horrible. Poor thing can't make any noise but those tears were streaming down his face and he was blood red. We will be going back every 2 weeks for awhile so he can continue to burn the spot off.

Long Awaited Visit

My Uncle Henry and Aunt Dale were able to come and visit us from Texas at the beginning of the week. We have not seen them in 3 years and we were so excited. They of course were dying to see the babies and Bryant and Lucy Kate loved them so much. Uncle Henry loves dogs and spent some time with Hutch (poor dog never gets any attention) and became Bailey's best friend since he never stopped petting him. Aunt Dale was able to go with us to the doctor on Tuesday and was such a big help. I love getting together with family and catching up on things. We had a great visit and we can't wait to see them again.

Charles was off work this past weekend and was able to spend so much time with Bryant and Lucy Kate. I tried to take as many pictures as possible since Charles has not been able to be with the babies a lot. He has been working so hard and has not been home much so we were so happy to see him.
