Plumbing Problems

The beginning of March we found ourselves being admitted to the hospital. Bryant has a severe UTI and after taking oral meds and receiving a shot his fever would not go down. He had to spend two nights in the hospital with IV antibiotics and finally his fever went away. His first UTI occurred about 11 months prior to this and since then he has had three more. Very unusual for boys to have so much trouble with this, so we were sent to LeBonheur for a VCUG test. Mom and I took all th kids and we were not prepared for it at all. The test was awful and extremely uncomfortable for him and apparently he was allergic to the dye, b/c he got VERY sick on the way home. We were just glad we finally made it home! We met with the urologist the following week and discussed what needed to be done. Bryant has a disorder called VUR and it cause back flow of the the urine into his kidney. He is a level 2/3 and needs to have a procedure done to correct the problem and hopefully reduce the chance of any long term damage being done to the right kidney. The procedure has a 90% success rate and hopefully will keep us from having major surgery. The procedure will be May 10th and we will know if it was successful July 10th. We just want to get all these problems worked out before school starts back in August. The disorder causes so many problems with going to the restroom and we just want it to be resolved.
